Kobo Clara HD - Rattle

Rattling sound on Kobo Clara and how to fix it. 

Root cause was the loose battery as adhesive not holding it. 

Open back casing and put in new double-sided tape and problem fixed. No more rattling sound.

Kobo Aura 2nd Edition

Bought Kobo Aura Edition 2. Now I have three eReaders. The first being a Sony PST-1. Used it for a month now and reviewed here. The conclusion. 

Kobo Aura Edition 2. 

A. E-Ink Carta is so much better and text so much sharper. 

B. Comfort light is so much clearer and evenly distributed 

C. Width is a bit narrower and more comfortable to hold

D. The screen is cleaner and easier to wipe

E. The raised bezel is better than the flat top screen of earlier Aura

Cost MYR570. Worth every cents. 

Kobo Aura

Just gotten this ebook reader with backlit light for night reading. To compare with the Sony reader now. 

Sony reader has a whitish background which is great for reading in bright light. However at night you would need read under a bright lamp. The width is great and it has that advantage of a slimmer feel. 

Kobo Aura as pictured below comes in black or pink. Easier to find when placed with all the other gadgets. 

Although the display is a shade darker it is fully compensated by the backlit light. 

And the battery can last a full month depending on usage. This baby costs RM 700 including shipping. Noticed the display with the backlit on. Time to dwell into some good ebook. Cheers!

Sony eReader

One purchase made in 2013 which has been the best ever was the Sony ereader. Sad to say that Sony has stopped making them since early 2014. With that purchase I have managed to stock over a couple of hundreds titles of my favourite authors. Some of these books are parked in my IPad Air which is able to download ePub publications as well.

So what happens to all the books that I owned? Slowly and surely I am going to sell all of them unless they are of some value of sort like sentimental or hard to find books. But only intend to keep 10% of my current titles. Managed to sell a number of books at a bargain price in Mudah.my. Some pushed to second-hand book sellers here.

Of course you cannot find any ereader in Malaysia but I was so lucky to find one resourceful seller in KL dealing with ebook readers. That said he is not into this business anymore. But there is KOBO GLO /Aura where you could get this decent ereader from a bookstore in Hong Kong.

The battery life is what's great about this machine. I could read over a month with one charge at a rate of an hour or two a day. Bookshelf - not buying anymore. No dusting or discolour books. Nor any silverfish either.

However you do need a small ereader light to read from dusk onwards. But daytime you can read in bright sunshine and not worry about any glare. The weight - approx 160grams only.

I guess it is time to hit the books on the ereader now.

Bern Allston Cycling Helmet

Found out that there was a distributor in Subang. Guess what? Had to take a trip there while on biz meeting to grab one after calling the shop if they have stock. Got one with a snug fit. If you takeout the visor that comes with it and it fits then that is the one for you. With the visor attached you will break in after a number of times wearing it.

Wore it for a 20km ride next morning. I would say it attracted some attention and some of my riding pals wanted one too. The visor does help to block out the sun. Makes a more comfortable ride.
